Renting a car from York, you need to remember.
Don’t forget your Driving Licence. If it’s a UK Licence, you’ll need to bring both parts with you.
In some circumstances a 2nd form of ID is also required, so it’s always best to have some with you (e.g. a utilities bill, your passport).
Present a credit card for authorisation against potential damage claims resulting from your rental. See insurance excess.

York is a walled city in the North of England. The city was founded by the Romans over 2000 years ago and plays a great part in heritage.Like most cities founded by the Romans, York is well served by long distance trunk roads. You can hire a car and drive around the outskirts of the countryside. You can also stay in rental accomodation or one of the numerous hotels in this lovely city. The city lies at the intersection of the A19 road from Doncaster to Tyneside, the A59 road from Liverpool to York, the A64 road from Leeds to Scarborough, and the A1079 road from York to Hull. The A64 road also provides the principal link to the motorway network, linking York to both the A1(M) and the M1 motorways at a distance of about 10 miles (16 km) from the city.
Another feature of central York is the Snickelways, narrow pedestrian routes, many of which led towards the former market-places in Pavement and Sampson Square. The city has many museums, including the Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Museum Gardens, JORVIK Viking Centre, the York Art Gallery, Richard III Museum, the Merchant
