Glasgow International Airport is situated near Paisley on the outskirts of Glasgow. The M8 Motorway is adjacent to the airport and will take you directly into Glasgow City Centre in about 15 minutes driving.

Proceed to UK Domestic Arrivals Hall, following signs for Car Hire.
Rental desks are situated opposite the Baggage Reclaim area.

ARRIVAL OUTSIDE OFFICE HOURS
Flight numbers must be provided, follow procedures as above.
Staff will wait if flight is delayed.
Bookings made outside office hours must be confirmed with the branch.
This service is charged at local cost.

ON DEPARTURE/RETURNING YOUR VEHICLE
Please return your vehicle to the Alamo/National returns office situated on St. Andrews Drive, Glasgow Airport.
As you enter the Airport from the M8, St Andrews Drive is on your left hand side of the one way system.
There is a courtesy coach service which will take you to the Terminal (approx 4 – 5 minutes drive).

DROP OFF OUTSIDE OFFICE HOURS
Please return your vehicle to the car hire pick up bays, situated in the Car Rental Car Park opposite the terminal building.
Follow signs for Car Hire Return, then Out of Hours Vehicle Returns.
Deposit the keys in the Key Return slot situated on the Alamo/National counter in the Domestic Arrivals terminal desk.

Glasgow Airport – Europcar Returns

Please follow the Airport signage showing ‘Car Hire Return’ to the Europcar check in area on Inchinan Road, adjacent to Airport boundary.

A coach shuttle bus will then take you to the terminal building.

The city center can be reached via the M8 motorway from the airport in around eight km. zip code can be inputed onto your on-board sat nav system. The code is PA3 2SW.

Bus and Coaches

The airport has an express bus which is called the Flyer 500. The bus generally runs every ten minutes. From the bus driver you can be bought bus tickets . Whether traffic and time of day the journey could be as little as fifteen minutes dropping tourists off at one of the main railways stations named Central Station.

The bus can also drop passengers off at Queen St station, Strathclyde University and most of the main hotels in the centre. Please ask bus drivers opinon when boarding the bus .

A different bus service which services the airport is the Air Link 747 bus. Passengers can be dropped off at Renfrew, Braehead and the west end of Glasgow by bus three times an hour from the airport. Making this an ideal choice for those travellers who are spending their time in this part of the city.

There are other normal coach services which can return passengers off in the middle of Paisley several miles from the airport.

Train

The airport has no train station although plans are being discussed at the moment for a viable option. Gilmour Street in Paisley is the nearest station with choices for passengers travelling into Glasgow city center . 8 trains an hour on average travel into the centre and tourists can catch this service.

Taxi

There is a taxi rank system which you can find outside the front of the airport building. The taxis are all metered and each taxi parked outside the main building is holds a license issued by the local council.

There is a zone for passengers which are being dropped off or collected at the airport.
